DUO v2 not online after power outage

The Netgear ReadyNAS DUO v2 doesn't come back online after a power outage. That is the power is on, but the unit can't be accessed as it is sleep mode.

Is it possible to restart in the "active" mode after a power outage?

I have done some searching and I can't find any mention of this. There doesn't seem to be any option in device's control panel.

There are two possible work options I can think of, but they are both messy and seem unnecessarily difficult.

1) Setting the Power Timer setting in the device
I haven't tried this, but the device might come back online if the Power Timer triggered the device. This would mean the device would be off line for some time during the day to ensure the device would recover from the power outage.

2) Sending Wake On LAN command
I haven't tried this either, but potentially this might work as well. However it difficult in my particular set up as the NAS is at a remote location and I am not using a VPN to connect.

  • I would also be interested to know the answer to this.
I am currently away from home, and I was alerted to a power failure by a "UPS Event Detected" message via email.
Power is restored now, but the Duo v2 is off-line.

I obviously can't do anything about this now, but I would like to know how to prevent this from happening in future.

I don't think you can prevent this behavior. It would require exposing settings in the bios.
