Have you tried connecting Raidar during the first 10 minutes after initialisation and select the raid type from there?
I don't believe you can have two separate volumes with Duo v2, you always get one volume. So with 1TB + 4TB you can achieve 2TB storage capacity, and 3TB unused (I think). You can check with the online raid capacity checker.

You should see the option to select the desired raid configuration. Let us know.

With the older NAS it's often easier to do the flexraid factory default with only one disk in place.
Then after setup, insert the second disk and create the second volume.
