Expanding a ReadyNas Ultra 2

Hi, I'm new.
I have a ReadyNas Ultra 2 with two 2Tb discs and I'm interested in increase the capacity to 6Tb changin the current 2Tb discs for two 3Tb discs.
I do not need to preserve de data in the discs.
My version is Radiator 4.2.15.
Is it possible to do this?
Do I need to upgrade the firmware?
Now I can login by SSH. Will I be able to login after upgrading the firmware? I need to access by SSH in order to change some file permisions.

Did you wipe it using the NAS?

Wipe it? I do not know what that means. I did as you instructed. I left the bigger hdd in nas as you instructed and this one is meant to go somewhere else. It is exactly the same as it was in NAS.
Nothing could be done so far on this smaller HDD.

First try this: Run windows disk manager (right-click on "computer" and select "manage"). That should show the NAS drive, even though windows can't mount it. Right-click on every partition and select "delete". When there are no partitions, the disk manager will let you reformat the drive.

I think mdgm is asking if you attempted to do a secure erase using the NAS. If you had, then the drive might possibly be locked. If the above procedure fails, then let us know, and we can get into that.
