External HDD USB 3.0 causes NAS to stall or freeze

Hi, this is my first post here.

I got a ReadyNAS Ultra 2, with 2x2TB HDD, i used to have a 3TB USB 3.0 HDD connected to the NAS at the front USB 3.0 port, but now whenever i try to move files from the HDD to the NAS it freezes.

BTW i have just installed OS 6, insted of RAIDaitor 4.x.x that might be the reason why i'm having trouble, but maybe someone knew a way around this problem?

I'm moving files with the browser web interface.

The NAS does not originally support OS 6, but so far it seems to Work fine. Except for the USB HDD fail.
  • Downloading it as posting this message, thanks a lot Guys.

What is the best way to move files from the Ext HDD to the NAS? The web browers seems to navagte a bit slow, and i cant really track how far along the process is.

Well it's best not to move but to copy (then delete from the USB drive if you wish).

You could use a backup job configured using the Dashboard (web-admin interface) perhaps.
