Factory defualt, will it fix hidden settings?
Hi All,
I have several readynas boxes and I have an issue with my NV+v2 in that when i start a BD rip when the unit has been sitting for a day or two, it stutters and freezes for a while.
I changed some settings be logging in with SSH before they the firmware had all the options it has now.
If I remove my hard drives and factory default the unit, will it allow me to reinstall the drives withput loosing data?
Secdond question will any default I do actually reset those settings in the bios or whatever I logged in to in order to shut off the drive spin down. I changed a few things and probably shouldnt have  . Maybe one of those changes is why my unit seems to run a maintance of some kind in the background when I access it for the first time after having it sit for a day or more.
Any input is appreciated. I really dont want to loose teh data on the drives as I dont have a back up of the 6tb on there.
I know the model v2 is not the issue because a friend has one and his doesnt do this after sitting for a while like mine.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou need the disks installed to do a factory default. It will wipe all data, settings, everything.
