File undelete in ReadyNAS (X-RAID, 4 HDDs)
Hello,
Just minutes ago I accidentally deleted two folders (with a few files and subfolders) that I need to recover if at all possible. They were on my ReadyNAS 1100, and there is nothing wrong with the ReadyNAS unit itself. Furthermore no additional files have been written to the ReadyNAS since the deletion occurred.
Unfortunately the device had been being backed up daily, and I thought it still was, but in mid January the backup server pulling the backups had a glitch and no further backups were made after that.
Is there any practical way to accomplish an undelete on a fully functional ReadyNAS? Most of the tools I see mentioned are for recovering corrupted arrays, but I just need to recover a few deleted files. Ordinary file undelete programs won't work with NAS drives.
Thanks in advance for any practical information that might help.

Is there any way to undelete some files from ReadyNAS x86 (FW 4.2.27)? - vandermerweMasterI take it you didn't have recycle bin active on the share.
Did you use a snapshot?
I think you are heading for a data recovery service which will cost money. - ReadyASGuide

No recycle bin active, no snapshot unfortunately.
For a single drive there is a lot of undelete tools, but no one for RAID? - StephenBGuru - Experienced Userundelete tools that support ext should work even if the underlying physical volume is RAID.
