hi there. thanks for your post. I have not tried a backup job. I am brand new to the unit so I havent had a chance to play with that yet, but it does sound like a good idea. I will try that. The error message is generated by windows, but only when trying to copy this file to the readynas. This error occurs in both windows XP and 2000 appliance (the source nas is windows appliance)
