Folder Creation
Hi,
Apologies first – new user with ReadyNAS 314.
Can someone please provide step by step instructions on how to setup user folders which are restricted to just user and admin?
Thanks.

- xeltrosApprenticeThose are called home folders.
On 6.2.0 you can find them in the share tab. on prior version I don't remember where they where.
Otherwise you have the option to create a share and give it special permissions. This would work too but require some work as you will need to create one per user. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserHome folders is definitely the easiest way to do this.
- Thanks guys - all I need now is knowledge on how to extract the old data (nv+ v2) 2 drive setup and transfer it to the new NAS (kicking myself as I did not backup the data onto another source).
- xeltrosApprenticeCan you be more specific on your transfer issue ? The first idea popping to mind is to simply use windows to do the transfer, maybe a shell script if there are too many home folders. But given the sound of your phrase it seems that the NV+ is not longer operational.

Per mdgm, netgear support can do this for you. So try contacting them (support.netgear.com).Nick Nandhra wrote: Thanks guys - all I need now is knowledge on how to extract the old data (nv+ v2) 2 drive setup and transfer it to the new NAS (kicking myself as I did not backup the data onto another source).
