General question about adding storage to Readynas 204

I have Readynas204 on x-raid with three 3TB drives giving me 5.45TB storage. Yesterday I added another 3TB and readynas recognized it without any issues but the storage size didn't change. I installed the new drive straight out of the package and I don't believe it needs reformatting since the drive status is green and 'Format' button is greyed out. The status is green, but it is saying volume rebuilding. My queston is am I suppsed to see the storage size of 8.38 TB once the volume rebuilding process is finished? or I suppsed to see increased storage size rightaway after adding the 4th drive? Thought I should ask this here first before I submit a ticket. Thanks

You should see the larger size when the rebuild completes.

  • I have the same problem - swapped 2tb drive for new 6tb drive and my capacity has not increased. Can you please let me know if you've found a solution? Thanks.
