Having trouble accessing shares in Windows 7

Hello,

I have just purchased my NAS Box and have followed the setup instructions and any helpful tips I could find on this forum.

But I have run into a problem.

I cannot map my network shares on any computer in the house.

I have a ReadyNAS Duo V2 running RAIDiator 5.3.7

It is connected to my home network via a Sagemcom F@ST2504n Modem/Router

I have set up several shares on the NAS box.

Using Windows explorer I have tried to map the shares as \\NASname\c\username or even \\NASipaddress\c\username

I get the following error message "NETWORK ERROR" Windows cannot access \\nasname\c\username
Error Code 0x80070035 The network path was not found.

I can ping the ip address of the Nas Box ok.

I have tried turning off Window Firewall.

The fact that the laptop and desktop cannot map the shares drives leads me to think its either a modem\router setting or NAS box setting. But I can ping the box ok!!!!

Any help would be appreciated.

update :
Running Windows Network Diagnostics says...

Problems found "NASname" exists but windows can't find "c"

    Window's won't find C unless you are using admin as the user name and the nas admin password when you log into the nas.

    it should find \\nasname\foldername. \\nasname also should give you the folder list.

    I will try \\nasname\foldername which in my case will be \\Voyager\Jeff
    tonight.

    Yes that worked, reading the instructions again, if I did as I was told in the first place it would have works. i.e
    mount the share as \\nasname\sharename in Windows explorer as you said.

    The family now all have a user folder each and a shared media folder on our home network.
