Your NAS is x86. The add-on you need is EnableRootSSH.

But if you can't get to the web admin page, you can't apply it. Are you trying to address it in the form https://NAS_name_or_IP/admin? If you don't use https, it will default to the share page instead of going to admin. Also what browser are you using? It's going to report a security issue due to the self-signed certificate the NAS uses, and you have to use a browser that lets you override that.
SSH is not normally used for NAS admin. There are some things that can only be accomplished through the GUI.
