Help with network browsing

Hey all
I am after some help with browsing my NAS (Duo V2 5.3.7) via my windows 7 PC.
Before when I was on 5.3.5 I could see my Nas fine under my network and I was able to browse and add/remove/rename files. I did go to version 5.3.6 but like most others I had issues with file permissions and so i went back to 5.3.5. I thought 5.3.7 was supposed to be working ok.

I am a bit of a newbie with my NAS. What I want to do is to use CIFs right? Trouble is I cant see CIFs as any of the protocols now >.<

I have added the NAS under " Add a Windows Credential" in User Accounts on my Win7 PC. I can also map a network drive to the root of the shared file.
Sorry if this is been discussed a lot before. I spent a few hours trawling but no joy.

Thanks for any help

CIFS is also known as SMB. It is built into all windows systems. If you can map NAS shares to network drives you are already using it.

I don't have a v2, so I can't tell you exactly how to change permissions on the drive. Of course the user name you put into the credentials manager is what determines your permissions on the NAS. One test is to set the username to admin (with the corresponding password) and see if that lets you deal with the file you want to delete/rename.
