Host Name Res Not Working Since Disabling Master Browser

I disabled the Master Browser on my Duo because I have that annoying ability to not leave things be. Every single backup I had set up prior to my ADHD setting in worked 100% for a couple of years via name resolution (aside from some minor errors of permissions on occasion). There is a mix of W2K, XP, Vista, W7 and Linux boxes on my wired network, all with static IPs. After disabling Master Browse on my Duo, it will no longer name resolve but will work fine with numeric IP addresses.

I tried toggling the MB back on but it still does not work. I'm more about finding core solutions to "problems" than I am to just letting things be. With that in mind, anyone have any ideas? I did make an effort to find similar threads on this forum but hadn't found any so pointing me to one I may have missed works, too.
