how to add a used drive from my pc
Hi i have a RN10200 can i put a hdd in a bay from my pc (as i need to rescue files from it) into the ReadyNAS without formatting it?
so i can get to my files?

What I would do is get a SATA USB dock from Best Buy, Amazon or similar... Then plug it into a PC to transfer the data. You may also be able to mount it using your NAS.

You can connect it to the PC, but the PC doesn't support the btrfs file system. Some here have had good luck with ReclaiMe recovery software. You could also try booting up the PC with linux.

No, you cannot read the files on a drive from your PC with the ReadyNAS by mounting it internally. As previously suggested, you will need a USB dock and connect that to another PC or (possibly) the ReadyNAS (depending on format). The NAS strictly uses BTRFS format on the internal drives but can read NTFS via USB. I'm not sure what the NAS will do if there is more than one partition on the drive.
