How to use Rsync with SSH over a pair of ReadyNAS
I'd like to set up Rsync using SSH to backup data from a RN214 to and from a remote RN204 (it'll be local for the initial backup). The backup jobs will all be on the local RN214. I've found the following articles:
http://kb.netgear.com/29929/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Setting-up-a-backup-job-with-rsync-over-SSH?cid=wmt_netgear_organic
http://kb.netgear.com/29741/How-do-I-back-up-data-between-two-ReadyNAS-OS-6-systems-using-the-backup-manager?cid=wmt_netgear_organic
The first article features SSH but covers backing up between a ReadyNAS and a server while the second article covers two ReadyNAS but without SSH.
Is there a similar article detailing using SSH with two ReadyNAS? I'm not familiar with using keys so am a little nervous about this process...
Many thanks,
Geoff
The information you need is actually in the first link.
The screenshots right below "Now, you need to give the public key from the ReadyNAS and attach it to the authorized_keys file of your remote SSH connection." show you how to download the public key to your PC. The section "Using a remote host" tells you how to import that key on the other ReadyNAS.
