HTTP failure, fantastic NAS
After upgrading to 6.2.2 i was disapointed to find I could not access my NAS from remote, after a lot of time, upgrading, downgrading, I eventually got it to work ....... But only in Denmark. I travel a lot and the main use of this server was to stream when I was abroad and allow my kids in the UK to back their photos up.
I have been in touch with Netgear who want me to pay for their service even though it was a problem after the firmware upgrade. So not even a suggestion off them on what to do unless I open my bank account to them.
I am really annoyed by this because it enables them to have a "bug" in their upgrades and we have to pay to sort it...printing your own money comes to mind!!!
If you are thinking of a reliable NAS system with good support, it's not Netgear

- NhellieVirtuosoThe 6.2.2 has some bugs and not really reliable, did you test 6.2.3 T1721?

Some hotel networks (and other wifi hotspots) block outbound traffic on unusual ports like 32400,which is needed for plex. Some ISPs might also (though that would be more rare). - MJT1GuideI would like to agree with you Stephen but I can't access it on 3G either, all I get is server not responding, I can set up a server on my computer no problem and access it from anywhere. I can access plex in Denmark but not over 3G. The only change to my system is the firmware upgrade
- MJT1GuideI will try that one, at the moment I am running 6.3.3 T143 but it hasn't made a difference, tried factory default many times also
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThe net is that the NAS has no idea where the remote client is or what network it is on.
- MJT1GuideI have even put it on DMZ and it wont work
- MJT1Guidenhellie that update worked :) I would love to know how on earth it stopped the connections
but I am still asking myself why release such a buggy update? - MJT1GuideAnd it's failed again :(
I give up, spent hours on this box of **** now it only gives me access off and on, even on my home network - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat firmware did you update from when you upgraded to 6.2.2?
Are you using the ReadyCloud client?
