I can shot down fan on my NAS-102

I have a Netgear NAS, by product model: RN10200, serial No: 3ER . . . 06E, purchased in July 2014.

This Netgear NAS controlled by Netgear Ready NAS RAIDar 6.4.0, and the NETGEAR Powerline Utility Version 6.0. NETGEAR genie version 2.4.16 monitors network.

Problems

In recent months I have received among others, the following problems with this equipment NAS 102.

1.

To begin with, did not function programmed shutdown of the NAS, but it had to close every time manually via RAIDars Administrator page.

2.

After a time, it was not to turn the fan on the NAS 102 through RAIDars Administrator page.

3.

Only this current NAS disappeared from RAIDars administrator side and the NETGEAR genie selected contact down the NAS appeared as broken.

4.

After the so-called "shutdown" on RAIDar and broken contact with the NETGEAR genie fan continues on the NAS 102 on going. The fan can only be stopped by pulling the power cord from the NAS.

        Hello Lauri,

I checked your records and you have not registered the SN of the NAS you have. I suggest you ask the support person you have contact with to register it under the case number you have opened so they can escalate the case in case needed.

Please also try setting MTU to 1500 and see if there's any improvement. I also strongly recommend to back up the data.

        Regards,

  • The problem with auto closing of NAS-102 is not solved yet.

NAS-102's OS is re-installed (OS reinstall).
Pressing the reset button, then Disk 2 LED lights
The password is reset and shutdown times are programmed.

      Hello Lauri,

The maximum transmission unit (MTU) is the largest data packet a network device transmits. When one network device communicates across the Internet with another, the data packets travel through many devices along the way. If a device in the data path has a lower MTU setting than the other devices, the data packets must be split or "fragmented" to accommodate the device with the smallest MTU. Some ReadyNAS users were able to resolve this problem by adjusting the MTU size.

You can change it by getting to the admin page of the NAS and get to Network - Eth0 (or Eth1) settings. If it is already 1500, change it to 9000, apply then change it back to 1500.

About the support, you have not registered the SN yet, you are entitled to still receive a grace support. I strongly suggest you contact support as it may need L3 escalation. The support case autoclosed because the case you have submitted was answered but you have not replied to them. To continue on a support case you need to log in to my.netgear.com.
