Thanks for your help. I have found the solution and (unfortunately) Matt was correct. I knew the NV+ is Sparc based, however for some reason I was still downloading the x86 version. I just assumed, like Stefan, that the system would give me a different error or something if I had the incorrect architecture, but it doesn't, it simply says invalid checksum. This may be something for the developers to look at changing - some sort of notification would have been nice.
I feel like a moron for downloading the wrong version though. Jebus. Glad I am getting out of the technology industry because I'm sure warn out!
