iSCSI LUNs deleted but space not freed up

Firmware: 6.6.0

Attached as a replication target for backup storage (UniTrends).

I show LUNs totalling 27TB out of a usable 36TB (48 raw). However, free space is reported as 1.91 TB and I'm receiving performance warnings for having less than 5% free. I should have close to 9 TB available - where is it? I think the scenario that created the current predicament is as follows:

1. Deleted old LUNs

2. As they were deleting in the background, I created the new LUNs (since deletion takes a long time and the free space number was at least increasing at the time.

3. Once the new LUNs were created, I didn't think too much about it until I added an SMB share for some SQL backups and quickly ran out of space even though they consumed no more than 2TB.

4. I moved that SQL share to another server entirely and delted it from the ReadyNAS - gained back the 2 TB.

I've seen at least 2 or 3 threads that are very similar to my situation and they all end with, Send me a 'PM'. Any chance someone could let me in on the secret - would love to be able to continue using this device and all of its storage. :)

Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

    Do you use snapshots?

What kind of LUNs do you have? Thick LUNs are recommended and when you create these the space is taken up instantly. Whether the LUN is empty or full it takes up the same amount of space (unless you are using snapshots in which case as changes are made over time even more space will be consumed until the snapshots are deleted).

Thanks. Not using snapshots. iSCSI LUNs are all thick and LUNs total capacity is 27.25 TB of a 36TB ReadyNAS. Still only have 1.9 TB available. Logs on their way momentarily.

Your email did not have the logs zip attached to it.
