Isn't from mergers to net gear - hatful ?
My either net was really slow and I wanted to speed thing up. I have thousands in one folder, it takes 4 min just to load them. I was thinking possibly sub from readynas 202 to my Mac. After further reading I found out this will not work and sub connections are for hard drives. I discounted it right away and seems to be functioning, but is it possible I did any harm to my Mac or readynas ? Please help

Assuming you mean USB instead of "sub", the answer depends completly on the construction of the cable you used. A USB-A to USB-A cable is forbidden by the USB spec, but that's what you would have needed. So there is no telling what was connected to what. If the 5V in the two devices were connected to each other, you certainly could have done harm. I would hope that the cable would not connect those together.
The only cable I had that was close was a USB plug on each end a 1/8th inch power plug, The type of cable that you would use on an older portable hard drive. One USB goes to computer, one to hard drive and the 3rd power plug goes to the hard drive. Maybe I got extrrrmly lucky and the usb plugs divertede the power to this 1/8 inch plug (the kind You would find on the end of the adaptor. I have a USB voltage tester and each usb port was putting out 5.2 volts.
