One quick question, I was looking for a way that we can take configuration backups periodically (say every sunday). I looked around in the NAS GUI but couldn't find any option. Is it possible to do this in ReadyNAS 4312S?

This is possible using GUI System/Settings/Coniguration Backup, but cannot be scheduled

  That I did but wanted to do it as a schedule..
  
  Ah.. any possible alternate ways? (other than keeping a reminder for myself to do it manually)

    Unfortunately not. It'd be a good suggestion for the idea exchange - ideally it would be integrated into the existing backup job scheduling, and let you specify a target in the usual way. Most likely that particular backup would need to run on the source NAS.
    
    How often do you expect the configuration to change, and how many people are authorized to change it?
