Large than 2TB drive recognized as 2TB or not at all?

Hello.

I was wondering if you can use larger than 2TB drives such as 2.5TB drives in the Readynas X600/X6 using the most current firmware?

I realize there are issues with larger than 2TB drive on this type of readynas system but I was wondering if they will just be recognized as a max of 2TB(even if the drive is 2.5TB) or if the drive will not show up at all?

Please let me know how the system will handle a 2.5TB drive.

Thanks for your help.

If it is recognised it would be recognised as having less than 1TB of space. So no you can't use these drives even on the latest firmware.
