Mac files stored on NV+ via CIFS have chmod 100
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ running 4.1.10. If I copy a file from Windows to a share on the NAS using CIFS, its "everyone" permissions are set to read/write, as I configured and expected. (chmod 777) ...

On the Shares\Share Listing\CIFS tab, make sure the 2 check boxes under "Advanced CIFS Permission" are checked and the permissions are set to read/write. Also go to the "Advanced options " tab and set share folder owner to nobody, share folder group to nogroup, then check the 2 boxes below that and hit apply. This should change the permissions to full access to any user accessing the ReadyNAS.
Thanks.
This is how the share is set up, with the exception of "Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings. This option is useful in cases where you are changing security levels and need to workaround file access problems" in the Advanced Options because, as you know, this changes the permissions to what you've just set the share to be and then the box on next display of the panel is unchecked.
I've used this setting in the past to fix incorrectly permissioned files. This does the trick.
But the original problem -- new files copied from a Mac to this share have permissions of chmod 100 -- is not fixed by these settings, which have been the settings on the share since I set it up.
