Mavericks + ReadyNas Duo + Time Machine

hi guys,

Im sure this has been covered before, seems to be a big problem that everyone is having at the moment but i cant find the answer.

I bought a ReadyNas Duo to back up with Time Machine running on Mavericks. My question is... How the bloody hell can i get it working!! Its been fine up until i upgraded to Mavericks!!

will there be a patch released soon or is there a fix?

Thanks everyone :)

What version of RAIDiator are you running?

What happens when you try to do a TM backup? Do you get an error?
  • Hi Buddy!

    Thanks for replying

I believe RAIDiator and Raidar are the same thing?? I have Raidar version 4.1.13

It tells me that the disk is already in use and sometimes it tells me its full which isnt the case :/

Ive tried rebooting, formatting, reinstalling etc... Still doesnt want to run anymore :/
  • hi again,

I just checked RAIDiator on the ReadyNAS its reading as v 4.1.13 must be the same info i saw in Raidar.

    i believe i have Duo v1.

ill find out the errors it throws soon ;)

    Cheers :)
  • ...ok... So after a few minutes it took for Time Machine to "Prepare Backups" i got this error message..

    (No Backups for 16 Days
    Check that "ReadyNas" is available
    Or select a new disk)

the above seems to be a new error since last time.

What i used to get was something along the lines of "disk in use"

    Any ideas?

Do you need your old TM backups?

Perhaps delete your TM backups and start afresh?
  • i tried that, i factory reset it, put on the latest firmware and it would just eventually do the same thing after a couple of days :( not sure what to do now...

Did you put the latest firmware on before or after the factory reset?

What firmware version were you running previously?
  • hhhmmm... Good question, not sure what version firmware i was running previously, ill have to test that out.

When formatting it, i formatted it first, then put the latest firmware on ;)

What disks do you have installed?

Do you just use the NAS for Time Machine or other things as well?
