Maximum Folder path / File name problem when coping from Windows Server 2012
Got error "Folder path / File name too long" when trying to copy for Server 2012 to 316 NAS with 6.6.0 OS.
What is the maximum Folder path / File name 6.6.0 OS will support ?
Yes this worked thanks had to use www.longpathtool.com to find the long Folder / file names.

Were you copying from the PC to the NAS? Or was the copy done in a backup job running on the NAS?
I believe a lot of older Windows systems are limited to 255 characters. When copying to the NAS, often the destination path is longer because it includes the \\server-name part. Mapping the NAS share to a drive letter might get you a few more characters.

Hi StephenB,
Thanks for the reply. Yes coping from the Server / PC to the NAS.
I will try the Mapping suggestion and give it a go.
