Migrating data to ReadyNAS 104 to ReadyNAS 204.
If I have a ReadyNAS 104 and I want to migrate to a ReadyNAS 204. Can I just pull the disks from 104 in order and put them in the 204 in the same order and it works?

Some feedback.
Got the ReadyNas204, tried to pull one Raid 1 drive from the 104 and insert in the 204. The boot failed.
Then tried to reboot with an OS reinstall, but it hung in the updating FW.
Then pulled the Second 104 disk and put it also in the 204. But hung in the Booting.
So finally I put the disk 2 back in the 104. Reinstalled reste to factory settings on the 204 with the 104 disk 1. And rsynbced the data from the 104 to the 204. Then lowlevel formatted the disk 2 from the 104 and inserted it in the 204. Right now it is rebuilding the second volume for RAID 1.

Hi obaeyens,
Thank you for your feedback. Probably the firmware on the flash in both units do not match. That's why even performing OS reinstall, it didn't fix it. Anyway, let me congratulate you in setting it up the new 204 unit properly with a workaround of your own.
Let us know if you have further questions.
Kind regards,
BrianL
