Dear,
I have a Netgear Duo with WD Caviar Red disks.
It has been configured with XRaid.
The disks are in sync and I see they have the same % of usage.
The primary disk is configured with only 1 share and subfolders.
When I map the mirrored disk, I can access it, however I don't see any subfolders... no content actually.
Is this normal behaviour and/or am I missing something?
Please advise.

- If you are in xraid then the volume is all you need to map. You do not need to map each disk.
As long as the NAS tells you the volume is redundant and you are in xraid then the data is mirrored.
The Duo disk 2 does not have a readable data partition, that is why you can't see anything. - OK

So I suppose when my primary disk (disk 1) crashed, I am able to read the secondary (disk 2).
Or do I need to replace the primary disk and it will be rebuild afterwards? - If a disk crashes, you should still be able to read/write to the volume. Frontview will tell you that the volume is degraded (not redundant).When you insert the replacement drive, the NAS will rebuild it.
Though disks can fail in rapid succession, so you don't want to delay in getting the replacement. Setting up email notifications is a good idea, then you get email alerts if a disk starts failing.
Note that even with RAID it is still possible to lose your data, so having a backup strategy is important. I also recommend a UPS (with a USB interface to the NAS, so the NAS gets power status from the UPS). That will shut down the NAS gracefully if there is unexpected power loss, as well as protecting it from surges.
