Missing USB drive after reboot: how to remout an usb hdd nv+

Hi all,
i had an energy fail down and after the reboot of my nv+ i can´t get an ftp acess to my usb hdd which is connected with my nv+.

I can see my usb divice via http but not via ftp

the network name of the usb drive was "Temp_Austausch"
when i look unter >volumes >devices
I can see the usb hdd unter the name "USB_HDD_2"
- when i switched to one of the "options" (for example "check the file system") in this menue the button "apply" was not active.

when i go to shares i can see the device with the name "USB_HDD_2" but noh with the name "Temp_Austausch"
and the whole line was grey so I could change anything

when i try to >add an share
the error message appeared "there was already an share or an User with this name"

under >security >user
there was a entry for an user - Temp_Austausch - i didn t made this entry
<< should i erease this User ??

i looked in the protokolls and found this:
Sat Jul 12 15:08:24 CEST 2014 Aufsetzen des FTP-Servers fehlgeschlagen Temp_Austausch
(translation: setup of the ftp-server failed Temp_Austausch")

so i shutted down the ftp protocoll
made an restart
switched the ftp protocoll on
made an restart
and nothing changed

My Question ist: how can i Remount my usb device with the name "Temp_Austausch"

here the technical data:
nv+; X-Raid Modus; 1 GB Memory
Radiator 4.1.13
4 WD 20EFRX HDD (2,0 TB)

the usb drive is an
Seagate 2,0 TB device

regards rodamir

What format is the drive? If it was ntfs or fat32 you might need to mount it in a windows machine and repair any damage that the unexpected shutdown might have made to the drive's file system.

BTW, I recommend that you get a UPS for your NAS - that will help ensure clean shutdowns in the future.
  • Hi StephanB,
the USB HDD has an EXT3 File System.
I have an Win 8.1 PC - with which programm can i repair the usb hdd?

I will buy an ups :-)
