Thank you. I did get that error message. But when I moved the equipment up to my desk to connect the drives directly to my PC, I also noticed that the box where I mount the drive has a broken piece. So before we do anything else, we're going to replace that box. Thanks again!
Start with connecting the drives to a Windows PC. If it offers to "repair", then let it.
If the drives aren't properly ejected for some reason, then they are mounted read-only, and can't be written to. The Windows "repair" resolves that.
