My RN516 won't boot anymore - any solutions to repair, or restore the data, else?
Hi, My RN516 does not boot anymore. What can I do to fix it? Or to restore the data? For instance: 1) Where can I buy a power supply? 2) If I buy another RN516, will my current hard drives work?...

I'm glad it went smoothly - and thx for following up.

Thank you for your inputs.
I’ve just purchased a RN626X00-100NES, waiting for the delivery.
What is the procedure to follow to transfer my 6xHD from the old to the new NAS?
Any preliminary action such as:
1. OS update on the new NAS?
2. A first initialisation with a spare HD maybe?

The 516 uses a standard Flex ATX power supply with a standard 20-pin ATX connection (not the modified one of legacy NAS). Unlike on the older units, it is much more difficult to simply connect a standard ATX supply to it externally to test if the supply is the problem.
I purchased a unit in similar condition for parts, but thinking a simple power supply replacement might fix it. It didn't. There is a dead short on one of the voltages (I forget which, now) on the motherboard, most likely from a bad electrolytic capacitor, though none was noticably bulging. With caps sprinkled all over the multi-layer board and no schematic, I stuck with it being a parts machine.
