Mystery Users / Groups / Shares
I am currently running the shared security mode and accounts exist for all shares (nogroup) as well as some mystery accounts which were created when I conected some USB HDDs a year ago or longer. Pasted below is some of the info appearing under the user & group account tab:
Name UID Primary Group Used Quota (MB)
USB_HDD_1 nogroup 0 MB
USB_HDD_2_1 nogroup 0 MB
USB_HDD_2_3 nogroup 0 MB
USB_HDD_2_5 nogroup 0 MB
USB_HDD_3 nogroup 0 MB
Zulu nogroup 0 MB
Zulu_1 nogroup 0 MB
I cannot delete these (there is no option to) and would be greatful for some guidance on how I can do so. These are not appearing in the shares listing, I do not have these USB drives anymore so cannot conect. It's just really strange that these are still remembered by the system although these were disconnected a long time ago.
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v1 running latest firmware. The issue has existed for some time and I have upgraded the firmware several times since this issue first appeared.
Also thinking of upgrading the security mode from share to user accounts. Shoud I do this first? Will this help give access to more settings so I can configure / delete these accounts that I no longer need.
A list of steps to follow would be hugely appreciated :D

- kossbossGuideSince your on the latest firmware.
Do an OS REinstall and your will be set I believe
Your data will be safe. The Os reinstall only touches the OS partition, it resets your network settings back to DHCP and your password back to "netgear1" - Tintin1AspirantThanks for your reply but I can't see this option.
Are you sure this applies to the NV+ v1? If so, please send me a step by step instructions?
I can see the reset to factory default option but this WILL clear all data :? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserInstructions for OS reinstall on the V1 are found in two places: the faq and the hardware manual.
