I am currently running the shared security mode and accounts exist for all shares (nogroup) as well as some mystery accounts which were created when I conected some USB HDDs a year ago or longer. Past...
Since your on the latest firmware.
Do an OS REinstall and your will be set I believe
Your data will be safe. The Os reinstall only touches the OS partition, it resets your network settings back to DHCP and your password back to "netgear1"
