That error you saw in diagnostics.log is likely not a symptom of the problem you are facing. If you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig) I can have a look at those.

I'd disagree here. Many do, but certainly many are not doing that (or checking the Netgear manuals either).
I agree that the response above was not helpful though.
