NETGEAR RN10400 Connecting to new wifi via new internet provider
Hello
I am using a NETGEAR RN10400 advanced network storage hard drive which used to connect to my internet wirelessly. I changed internet provider and the unit doesn't connect to the new wifi router. Clearly I have to do some setting up but I really am a caveman when it comes to tech. Can anyone help to let me know how to connect to my new internet wifi? I am using windows 10. I don't know what firmware I'm using. Sorry but I really need the Sesame Street version of advice on what to do to connect. Think, explaining what to do to a 5 year old and you have an idea what Ievel I'm at! Many thanks for taking time to look at this.
Best wishes
Clive

Not sure how this ended up in the idea exchange, it should be in the main forum area.

The RN104 connects to your router over ethernet (a cable), not wirelessly. You can reach it wirelessly from your phone or PC, but the NAS itself needs a cable. So first check to see if the cable is connected to both the NAS and the router.
There are two ethernet connectors on the back of the NAS - see page 26 here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf Normally you'd use the top connector, but it shouldn't matter.
Make sure the cable is secure in the socket. Also check the LED status next to the the socket - with a new router, it should be green (gigabit).
