New 628X with 14TB drives, but only 12.7TB is seen??

Hey guys, I just installed my 14TB drives in ReadyNAS 628X.  I want to go with RAID5 and use my other NAS boxes as a mirror for my important data.  However, I am only seeing that the drive is detected as ~12.7TB.  Why?

Hi givememynamebak, there is lots of confusion about what Terabytes means. One Terabyte (TB) is 0.9095 Tebybite (TiB). So 14x0.9095=12.733 and all is fine on your side. The nas shows you TiB while the makers of disks like TB much more, because their disks look bigger measuring it this way. The former is measuring the multiples of bytes in binary and the latter does it the decimal way. Kind regards
