New Discs in DUO v1
Hi folks,
I could use some help here. Have a used empty DUOv1 (bought it on eBay) and I have two empty 500GB HD (approved for the DUOv1) that were used in PCs before. I wiped the HDs clean and plan to install them into the DUOv1 (one at a time).
One has to make sure the HD is recognized and prepared by the DUOv1 (after the first start) to get the system up and running, so the the HDs get 'prepared' for the DUO. I have done this before but I forgot how. I can't find any hint in the manual though.:?:
Can you help?
Andy

All you need to do is insert the two disks into the NAS with it powered down, and start it up. :Dwilleand wrote: ...One has to make sure the HD is recognized and prepared by the DUOv1 (after the first start) to get the system up and running, so the the HDs get 'prepared' for the DUO. You have about 5 minutes after that to change to flexraid (with RAIDar), but the normal XRAID will happen if you just wait.
