New laptop wont connect to netgear readynas
Hello and thanks in advance for your assistance.
Situation is this:
- I have a Netgear ReadyNas (RN10400) which is connected via cable to the router
- When I set it up, I mapped the folders to a laptop and a desktop PC
- I recently bought another laptop and I cannot figure out how to map to the readyNAS.
- All devices (except for the PC) are connecting wirelessly to the router. In other words - the other laptop that I have is connected wirelessly to the router and can see the NAS in the network and save and access items without the use of the cloud or RAIDar.
The new laptop:
- Cannot see the ready NAS in the network
- When I run RAIDar it gives me an error message "your netgear storage is not accessible from this computer check your network settings"
The outcome that I would love is to have the new laptop see the the readyNaS as a storage device when I go to network and be able to access and save documents from mapped drives on the laptop that go to the folders on the NAS.
Thanks in advance for your help.

What is the IP Address of your ReadyNas?
What is the IP Address of your new Laptop?

Hey Bedlam thank you for your reply
IP for the NAS is 192.168.0.7
IP for the laptop is IPv4 10.0.0.9
(I followed these instructions) - https://kb.netgear.com/20878/Finding-your-IP-address-without-using-the-command-prompt .... running windows 10 on a wireless connection

You need to change the IP Address on your laptop to 192.168.0.xxx
xxx being a number not already used in your network.
