New NAS, securitymode = SHARE, can't accesss
I've got my new NV+ (RMA warranty replacement) running with a new XRAID using 4x 2TB RED drives. I have it set in share security mode. New shares I create can not be accessed from my Windows XP PC...
So now I have to switch to user mode. Deprecated, if not unsupported.
Then I also have to set my users up the same across all 3 NAS.
Same users same groups, same passwords ?
So that my access to all is consistent.
Otherwise a backup from user Paul user 10001 on NAS1 to NAS2 if user Angie was 10001 would result in me not accessing the file.
Hm, maybe I should run an open source DC on a spare box.
Would that support Mac and PC clients?
