New ReadyNAS, Recovery running?
I had a ReadyNas ultra 4, with 4 drives. I took three of them, added three new ones, and did the following:
- Moved 3 of 4 old drives to new NAS
- Added 3 new drives
- Upgraded firmware on new nas (ReadyNAS 6 Pro)
- Performed factory reset
Now, I see all of my drives, 0% space taken up (which is good - I wanted a fresh start)... but FrontView shows me:
Configuration: RAID Level X-RAID2, 6 disks
Status: Recovery 4% complete, Time to finish 8 hr 3 min, Speed 94.1 MB/sec
Why is it doing a recovery?
Thanks,
john

- john_esAspirantThat's what I thought... but it says recovery.
There's nothing to recover. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIt needs to sync the disks sector by sector to setup the RAID.

OK, I just never saw the NASs do a recovery (I thought I would see it do a resync), including another one I just setup last week.
I assume that any data that I have copied to it will be fine? It seems so, so far.
