New user in need of some help
Hi,
So I have bought a ReadyNas Duo (possibly v2 I'm not sure) second hand off a friend of mine.
I have a lot of hard drives which could be used in them so when my friend initially set up the ReadyNas we used a Samsung 2TB drive and a Seagate 2TB drive.
We thought we had it set up correctly (based on the set-up when he used it) however the Nas ran incredibly slow, less than 1mbps, so tonight we attempted to set it up again. This time I got my hands on a second 2 TB Samsung drive (identical model to the one I have). According to my friend who I bought it off, having the 2 drives the same in the Nas will help.
No onto my main problem... The Nas doesn't identify the new Samsung drive as Samsung, it still sees it as a Seagate. As the Nas is looking for the Seagate but there is a Samsung in it has marked it as "dead" and cannot work.
I have no idea what I am doing and need "The idiots guide" response. If you

Let us know, also let us know the firmware.
There is no need to have two identical drives; your friend is incorrect on that.
I am not sure if you are saying that the NAS is not working, or if it is not using the second drive???
