NV+ stuck on booting, including after trying os reinstall

The NAS should be able to recover the data no matter which disk fails, if you have an xraid array. It's just that out of the NAS only disk 1 is readable.
Of course if you have more than 2 disks then reading the entire array outside the NAS is more difficult.
If you don't want to worry then make sure you have robust backup arrangements.
