NV+V2 with 4 WD 4TB drives = on 10.8 TB?!
Hello,
I recently did a factory reset of my NV+V2 before inserting new drives, and I was a little startled to see that my four new 4TB WD40EFRX (on the HLC) are only totally in as 10.8 TB using X-Raid2 on my NV+V2.
I thought the rule of thumb was 1 drive for redundancy, so I was expecting to see 12 TB free.
before I load up my data, I thought I'd check that I wasn't doing something wrong.
ReadyNAS NV+ v2
RAIDiator 5.3.11
X-RAID2 (Redundant)
10.8 TB Free Of 10.8 TB
however, accessing from the shell shows the expected 12TB
Is it just a discrepancy in frontview's reporting of the space?

These are different ways of measuring the space. You will notice the same thing with a Windows PC.
