NVX can't copy file permission following f/w update 4.2.27

The reason I was under the impression that i cannot do downgrades was a info from Netgear Support and link:
"There will be no options for us to downgrade the firmware. You can check the link here http://www.readynas.com/?p=3203 "
Where they say among other things (IN BOLD RED) "Please be warned that once you upgrade to 4.2.7, you cannot downgrade back to 4.2.5."
Have also found this thread where other people using Egnyte Storage Sync (whatever that is) have trouble accessing their NAS following the upgrade to 4.2.27:

Back to my problem:
Tried to run SmartSync when logged in as Administrator under Win7 and run backups as either of the 3 NVX users: admin / ro / copy.
Sadly still the same error.
