OS6 remote Rsync backup and advanced options

Running OS 6.1.6 on RN102. It seems that Remote-Rsync_over-SSH backup doesn't accept to have both "Compression" and "Remove deleted files on source" advanced options enabled at the same time.
I have setup a backup job to do so via Rsync over SSH, towards a remote ReadyNAS.

It all works well when:
- I don't specify any other specific option
- I do enable "Compression" advanced option; In such case I have verified that the amount of transferred data is indeed substancially lower - roughly 40% less -, proving that compression is active
- I do enable "Remove deleted files on source" advanced option; In such case I have verified as well that it's working as expected

But it doesn't work once I enable both advanced options at the same time. I can succesfully save my job configuration with these settings, but when I re-open the settings again then both options are disabled. Moreover, I have verified that none of these options are applied when I run the job

This behavior is equally true with 6.1.5. I have not checked with any other earlier firmware version.

Hints ? Bug? Many thanks for any help

Jean-Marc

PS: note that this works like a charm with Radiator 4.2.25 on a ReadyNAS Utra, with both options enabled

It might be good to contact Netgear support (via support.netgear.com), to make sure this is entered in their tracking system. I wouldn't presume that they will do that based on a post here.

You might also pm skywalker, referencing this thread.
  • Case logged at Netgear support team over more than 2 months ago. The support engineer has seen the issue, and escalated this to level-3 support. Still no news until know, although it still doesn't work with latest 6.1.7 release. Keep you posted if I get any valid feedback.
  • Got the following update from Netgear support:
"Confirmation that this bug will be fixed in the next major release i.e. 6.2. Target date remains unknow though."

I'll request to get this included in 6.1.8 (currently in beta)
