Password
I have my Timemachine backup on my ReadyNAS 104. I can log on as the admin but when I try to log on to my Timemachine it will not accept my password. Can I recover this password in some way?

Thank you for all your help. I was able to recover my password and when I booted up in RECOVERY mode and put the password I got an error message"Time Machine was unable to recover from this backup" I would think thats all that can be done. Thanks Again.

Hello dwood46,
Are you using the default username? Changing the password is easily done through the admin page but if you have already entered this right password on your Mac for TimeMachine then it will break the backup., so hat you can do is retrieve it from the your Mac. try getting to Applications > Utilities > Key Chain Access app, you will be prompted for the login you use for your Mac.
Also, please include the current firmware version.

In the keychain there should be an entry for the user you use to connect to the NAS for Time Machine backups. Assuming you have a Mac currently backing up to the NAS successfully using Time Machine.
If you click on that entry you should be prompted to enter your Keychain password (typically your password to login to your Mac) if you want to reveal the password.

JennC,
I was in the right place but i'm sure the reason I couldnt find my Time Machine backup in the keychain is my Fusion Drive crashed and I lost everything. That is why I needed to recover my backup. But my Time Machine backup is on my NAS and I cant login. Sorry, any more suggestions.

If you can't remember the password you could change it. That is the other option.
