Post 6.5.0 - Win 8.1 machine slow to see file updates on a share
I have been running a PowerShell application on WIndows 8.1 for about 18 months that watches for a file to get uploaded via FTP onto the ReadyNas. After the firmware update to 6.5.0, that script started failing... as in missing changes.
After the file is changed on the NAS, Win 8.1 doesn't reflect the update in a folder, and reading the file in PowerShell brings in the old data (sometimes only partially)... and this is after at least several minutes. If I open the file in Notepad, the shell folder and PowerShell script immediately see the correct file.
I've found a workaround by toggling a file lock before looking for changes, but this is a behavior change that is tied to 6.5.0. I'm guessing there is caching and/or SMB2 vs SMB3 involved, but the upgrade was not transparent for me.

Hi xbone,
Can you confirm if you're having the same problem on ordinary backup jobs created by the ReadyNAS? Also, check if the shares can still be accessed via SMB or FTP using Windows Explorer.
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards,
