Pro 6 power supply fan very noisy #19807401

I had the same issue. PSU fan went very noisy. You could hear the NAS from a few rooms away!
Netgear only offer a complete replacement chassis which is a big big overkill - not even a replacement PSU!
However, I found it pretty straight forward to remove the PSU, take the cover off and get the fan out. You can do it without dismantling too much. I left all the PSU wires connected.
The PSU fan is an ADDA and is available from Mouser Electronics:
Model No: AD0812HB-A70GL-LF
Size: 80x25
Volts: 12
Power (W): 3.00
Speed RPM: 3000
CFM: 40.80
Noise: dbA 34.4
Ball bearing
I had to cut the old fan connector off and solder it on to the new fan wires. As long as you take care, it is pretty straight forward.
Now the NAS is as quiet as a mouse :-)
