Problem with second hand readynas duo V2
Hello,
this is my first post in here so please don't kill if people have already asked this.
I have purchased a second hand Readynas Duo V2. It has had a 1TB drive in it. I removed the drive and inserted 2x2TB drives. The i read the manual and figured out how to do a factory reset but it just never happens.
I power the device off, hold the reset button and power it. Now i am supposed to wait for the light to go on but this never happens, i have waited for two hours now.
My Duo powers up while reset button is pushed, then the power button starts and keeps flashing and the HDD2 led lights up and stays on. That is all it does.
I have had to try the factory reset as it has had different network settings and RAIDar was not able to find it.
Any help. Please?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserFirst, you should confirm that it is a v2. The labeling is misleading, so use this guide to tell: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/
The front panel procedures are different for different models. One workaround is to delete any partitions on your new disks (which can be done from Windows) and then install them in the NAS. It is automatically designed to do a factory install when the disks are blank.
Also, for future reference - there are two other ways to reset the network settings. An OS reinstall does that w/o harming data (and is also a boot-menu option). If you know the old network settings, you can also use a direct connect (attaching the NAS to your PC Nic) and temporarily configure the PC with a static address that is compatible.
RAIDar is designed to find the NAS even if the network settings are incompatible - it uses ethernet broadcast for discovery. Perhaps the PC firewall was blocking it??? - 290373mAspirantThanks a lot for your help. I did turn off the AV and it was found. Now i have the problem that when i click on Setup in RAIDair i get a page not found error. I tried with the IP to connect but same error.
The device does show up in windows explorer and i can also see content of it - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou configure the duo from your browser - you don't actually need RAIDar
https://nasname/admin should get you there. I suggest firefox, especially if you aren't sure what firmware it is running. - 290373mAspirantDoesn't work either :(
I am trying to connect to https://nas-9a-92-62/admin but still won't connect
nas name by raidair is nas-9a-92-62
In raidair it says firmware 4.1.10 - StephenBGuru - Experienced Userok. First of all you have a v1, not a v2 (and yes, I know it probably says v2 on the label). Check here: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/ You might want to update your profile.
Try using the IP address instead of nas-9a-92-62
