PS3 Streaming (Music Playlists and iTunes Video)
Hi there,
I have a readyNas Duo with iTunes Streaming Server turned on, readyDLNA installed and turned on and Home Media Streaming Server turned on.
I also have a PS3.
I can stream music and some video to the PS3 with no problems at all.
The two issues I have are:
1) Playlistst (Music) - these only appear to work with music stored locally on the PS3 and not streamed - is this true and is there any way at all to use my play lists (if not you either have a LOT of scrolling to do (with >5000 tracks) or you have random mixes (pop followed by classical followed by Christmas music!)
2) Video - I purchase a lot of TV programs from Apple (via iTunes of course). I back these up to my readyNAS, and would love to be able to stream them to my TV via my PS3 - whenever I try to play one I get "The data types not supported (800288C0)". Videos I've created myself for my iPhone play fine. I'm guessing it may be some kind of copy protection but from some other things I've read I'm not so sure. Is it possible at all to play these videos?
Thanks
James

- jamesnoeAspirantOK, so for point (1) I found that exporting to M3U format from iTunes didn't work, but using a third party tool to export to M3U DID work - or at least it did once, various rebuilds of media library seem to have varying results!
- JarnoGGuideFor the playlists, I don't have any m3u playlists made using iTunes, but the other ones I have made using other software seem to be working well.
About the videos, the iTunes store uses copy protection on most of its content and that basically makes their stuff useless for any standard use (like playing it with non-apple players). - jamesnoeAspirantThanks for the reply.
I've given up on the DLNA add-on as it's so flaky. Trying Twonky now which seems to at least pick up all my playlists, and even has music in about 60% of them, but the others are either randomly empty or only have a few of the songs appear on my PS3 - weird!
