Raidator 5.3.8 drops server connection

After I updated my NV+ to 5.3.8 on Jul 8th I started experiencing connection loss at various times with both my Boxee Box and now a Little Black Box. At first I blamed it on the streamer because a reboot would cure the issue for a little while, then it would again drop the connection with the message "The connection has timed out" So I re-installed the NAS firmware from disk and tried that, no luck. Do you know how frustrating it is to tell your wife that you do not know why her favorite show stops 3 or 4 times in an hour  I finally decided it had to be the NAS, so I reverted to 5.3.7 and the problem went away at once. So something they did in 5.3.8 is causing it to drop connections on streaming video, no set pattern that I could see, random. I tried wired, wireless, SMB, AFP, NFS, and DLNA, all dropped the connection, this is what told me it was the server and not the box. Hope no one else has this issue but reverting solved it.

  • I bought a ReadyNas 102, set it up, firmware 6.1.4, uploaded some movies and subtitles but it doesnt streams the subtitles. Tried Plex media server and still doesnt streams the subtitles.

Plex needs to transcode to burn in the subtitles to the video. Plex on the 102 does not support transcoding.
